What People Are Saying:

Kia has created a beautiful safe inclusive place for teachers that truly want to dive into Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The speakers that Kia invites to share with us have been engaging and thought-provoking. Every conversation has provided me with many points of reflection in my own teaching praxis, and helped me think critically about how I am making space for MY students to feel safe and inclusive in our classroom space. The weekly check-ins are full of great thoughts and ideas, as well! Getting to know some really great teachers was really exciting for me-- and it also made me feel good to know that I wasn't alone in the struggles that we face in our profession. THIS has been the equity work that I am inspired to do, but struggled to find at my school and in my district. Join this group NOW and I know you won't regret it!

Last year I was part of Kia London's Trailblazers Curriculum Coaching and I just wanted to give her a quick shout out and testimonial. What she has created in this community is really incredible. For me, the biggest support was just the words, being surrounded by other educators who are literally in the classroom doing the same thing as me with shared values, who are willing to be sounding boards, and willing to push me. Being able to ask the right questions was everything I needed to really get to that level of support that I didn't necessarily find at my school, or not in the same way. There's something special about being surrounded by other world language teachers as well. Kia's experience in the classroom and experience and leadership in coaching people within diversity, equity, and inclusion, and coaching people on how to create belonging and classroom community. All of that was huge, and so the resources were amazing! For me it was more about the the support of the community and of Kia herself, also the guests of the month were awesome. She often hired guests to come and chat with us, and it was just an invaluable experience, and I strongly encourage you to look into it if you are seeking some extra support, especially around around how to create a more inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all of your students this year.
