Leading Through Belonging, Equity, and Interculturality in the World Language Classroom

Through Trailblaze Into Language Learning LLC., in partnership with the Center for Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE), learners can earn 4 non-degree units upon successful completion of the course with Trailblaze Into Language Learning. Each professional development unit (PDU) is equivalent to 15 instructional hours at the graduate level.

 The professional development units may be approved for career and salary advancement by a licensing body.

Upon successful completion, you will receive an unofficial transcript from the university mailed to the address you used for registration. Official transcripts can be ordered here: University of the Pacific Transcript Request | Parchment. Please allow at least 1 week (7 business days) after completing the course for grades to post accordingly.

This is a virtual curriculum coaching program that addresses the following.....

As world language teachers, we are tasked to cover a wide breadth of content. We are called to assess and facilitate learning for students on the following: communication, comparisons, connections, cultures, communities, and intercultural competence. Due to the ever-changing landscape of the educational field, we need to sustain and maximize the students' engagement to ensure that they are growing successfully in becoming lifelong learners. This course is designed to support world language educators in their growth, guiding in the areas of belonging, equity, and interculturality. This includes training on how to be culturally responsive in the classroom, engaging in continuous reflective learning, understanding the importance of representation in the curriculum and classroom, utilizing various student-centered approaches, and nurturing teacher advocacy in and outside of the classroom.
